Terminal 3: The Remote Work Program For Digital Nomads

Published on:

Co-founder & COO of Terminal 3, Ioannis Papoutsis has a strong background in digital nomadism. He explains how the startups enables people to take a journey of their own & why they should take the challenge:

Describe Terminal 3 in 50 words or less.

Terminal 3 is a six month travel and remote work program for digital nomads and startups.

Why did you decide to pursue your own dreams rather than someone else’s?

At Terminal 3 we decided to follow our passion. We are digital nomads. Collectively myself and founder Mevish Aslam have over twelve years on/off experience as a digital nomad.

Describe your typical working day from coming to the office to leaving it.

I am now in Rabat, Morocco with the program, and I work from two co-work spaces, social incubator MCISE and maker & hacker space Techverse.

I keep going to coffee shops to work from as well. See attached a photo in Rabat, my co-founder on the left in white and me on the far right with the bag.

7 years from now: How did your startup change the world?

We expect Terminal 3 to support a whole host of digital nomads into a borderless way of life. Often we find people are resistant to break away from the 9-5 lifestyle which is why programs such as Terminal 3 come to their rescue.

In what ways do you measure your success and how do you make sure you don’t lose track?

Given our wealth of experience our remote team speaks almost every day. We have our vision and a roadmap in place. Its easy to get side tracked but by setting targets we are one step closer everyday.

Bootstrapped or financed: What fuels your startup now and what will in the future?

Terminal 3 is bootstrapped using personal investment. Our results based ethic supports our plans to build a community of like minded professionals.

What were the biggest challenges you faced building your startup?

The digital nomad concept is growing momentum, but we often meet many people who still have no clue. As a result we invest time in consulting with communities to introduce a borderless way of life.

With ferocious competition and a booming trend to build new companies: How do you make sure you don’t get lost in the shuffle?

We innovate solutions based on feedback from our community. Our USP has a strong focus on building communities and personal and professional well being.

Where can participants apply for Terminal 3?

Right here, limited spots available!

What do you look for in team members?

Passion, perseverance and the interest in truly making a difference.

Why would a talent join your team?

Who wouldn’t want to spend six months travelling and work remotely all expenses paid? We recently had a call out for organizers and were absolutely flabbergasted with the response.

What was your most memorable moment so far?

The organic interest in Terminal 3 has meant we have had applications from all over the world. With no age or nationality barrier. We recently even interviewed a couple from Japan in their fifties.

What advice would you give fellow founders for their startup?

If you have an idea go out and test it. Once validated consistently follow a loop of measuring feedback and implementing changes. I find many people sit on great ideas – they should start early and not fear failure.
