A Growing Startup Ecosystem

Discover The Munich Startup Scene In A New Guide BookMunich is in a perfect location to be a successful startup city – the short drive to Switzerland, Italy or France in just a few hours makes the city accessible for internationals. Startup Guide founder Sissel Hansen believes Startup Guide Munich can push to improve the conditions even more: “Munich’s startup ecosystem is different to other German cities, but undoubtedly very important. Successful companies like FlixBus and Celonis have pathed the way for a lot of other startups for the last few years, and the amount of incubators and accelerators in the city is a positive sign of the growing community. With strong academic support, capital from investors and a history of large innovative companies, Munich has a perfect base for a stable future of entrepreneurship.”

Dr. Carsten Rudolph from BayStartUP, a network for startups, investors and industry representatives supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economics, says, “We’re observing a wide range of ideas that startups are coming up with, and innovations from all kinds of industry sectors, both business to business and business to consumer. Young companies like Konux or tado° prove to be real assets to the city’s economic landscape. We’re excited to say that the Munich startup ecosystem is becoming a catalyzer for young businesses and established corporations alike.”

To publish the book Startup Guide has partnered with MUST – The Munich Summit who is the local project owner and facilitator for the Munich guide. The Startup Guide Munich contains case studies on successful Munich startups and expert advice from Fraunhofer Venture, Bavarian Ministry of Economics and VW Data:lab, among others. The project is sponsored by Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and its initiative Gründerland Bayern and KPMG.

The book will be released on September 25th, 2017, during the Bits & Pretzels conference, and at the Startup Guide Munich Launch Party supported by Mindspace – a successful international coworking space which has been promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in multiple cities around Germany and Israel.

The Startup Guide Munich Launch Party will be hosted by the brand new Mindspace venue in Munich.
The party is open to the public as a part of Bits & Pretzels Startup Night. The event registration page can be found here.
