Startups that counter climate change have the opportunity to receive up to 95.000€ equity-free financial support and mentoring to develop their business. The application phase for Europe’s largest acceleration program for climate innovators is open until July 29th.

Climate-KIC, Europe’s largest CleanTech accelerator, is once again looking for startups that have a venture case and a positive climate impact in their business model. Each team that enters the accelerator receives training and mentoring sessions as well as access to Climate-KIC’s Bootcamp, Demo Day, Investors Dinner, and various Master Classes to fast-track their business.

5 Locations Across Germany, Austria & Switzerland

Climate-KIC offers professional support such as pitch training, business coaching, or office space in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich as well as Vienna and Zurich. By supporting innovative CleanTech startups, the accelerator helps them scale and become investment ready in three stages: Business Model Validation, Customer Traction, and Fundraising. Each of these three stages lasts for six months while offering an overall financial support of up to 95.000€ as well as additional benefits – all without any equity taken.

Startups with new technologies or services that have commercial viability and climate impact can apply for Europe’s largest CleanTech accelerator in a variety of fields:

The Winter Batch 2018 that will start in October will follow in the footsteps of companies such as air-taxi pioneers Lilium & Volocopter, smart thermostat company tado or thermondo, currently Europe’s 2nd fastest growing company. Moreover, accepted startups also get the chance to connect to the accelerator’s Europe-wide network of alumni (among them more than 1000+ companies), contacts, and events such as European Venture Competition as well as the annual Climate Innovation Summit.

Apply To Fast-Track Your CleanTech By July 29th

Startups that comply with the following criteria are welcome to apply to Climate-KIC by July 29th:

  • Business creates positive climate impact (adaptation or mitigation) either directly or indirectly (e.g. enabling technology)
  • Scalable business model, that can be built into a venture case
  • Has a connection to Germany, Austria or Switzerland (either as home base, main market, or production site)
  • Minimum of two active founders (active founders need to hold 75+ % of equity)
  • Incorporation not longer than 5 years ago (if not incorporated yet, need to incorporate within phase 1 of the program)
