Venture Builder LEDGER Seeks Human-Centric Innovations

16 selected companies will go through a customized venture builder program receiving up to €150.000 in funding. To participate, apply by 30 April!

LEDGER, a European project financed by the European Commission, is looking for 32 human-centric innovators to develop Minimum Viable Products and Services, in order to achieve new models that preserve citizens’ digital sovereignty, where data is a common good owned by citizens and wealth created by data-driven platforms is equally distributed.

LEDGER’s venture builder program empowers entrepreneurs, developers, and researchers to achieve human-centric solutions to transform digital governance. “We are ready to grow projects that will be lead to an Internet more focused on humans and citizens”, said Andres Sanchez, Project Manager at LEDGER and Product Manager at FundingBox.

Access To A 12-Month Program & Up To €200.000

LEDGER is looking for SMEs, teams, organizations, and researchers that want to shift data management, leveraging on decentralized algorithms based on blockchains, distributed ledger technology (DLT) and/or peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies to address Privacy-by-Design, reliability, trustworthiness, and openness to build human-centric solutions.

Selected teams will access their 12-month program and gain up to €200k equity-free money. Further, participating teams will be supported with:

  • Business mentoring, networking, and researcher-in-residence support
  • Venture Builder Program (9-months)
  • Business Focused Program (3-months)
  • Potential venture capital investments & more

The EU will accelerate teams into companies with a solid human-centric values business model. “Our venture builder will provide mentorship, guidance and direct grants of up to 200.000 Euros each to projects building decentralized solutions where citizens retain control over their data”, declared Xabier Chao, Project Coordinator of LEDGER and CIO at FundingBox.

Participants also receive DLT based software support and training, technological and business mentoring, vouchers and other enabling benefits throughout a venture builder program by Dyne.org a prime “think and do” tank active on open software development and part of the EU projects D- CENT and DECODE. “Selected teams will develop a MVP where privacy-by-design, openness, and data governance are at the core of their value proposition”, pointed out Jaromil Roio, CTO of dyne.org.
