Describe flying tent in 50 words or less.

flying tent is the world’s first all in one floating tent, hammock, bivy tent and rain poncho. This makes flying tent your ultimate multi-functional and reliable companion for outdoor adventures.

flying tentWhy should people use flying tent? What’s the benefit you offer customers?

If camping, backpacking and bikepacking teaches us one lesson that applies to everyday life, it’s consolidating space. The flying tent is about just that: making four accessories we all take on trips and weaving them into one, convertible gadget. And it’s pretty ingenious.

The flying tent is especially designed for people who are on the move in diverse terrain. Anywhere a tent can‘t go like the forest, jungle, wilderness or along river beds the flying tent is ready. Inclusive supplies it is squeezed down into a small bag that is set up within seconds. This makes flying tent perfect for camper, backpacker or bikepacker who need transportable gear to set up fast and go.

You just recently finished a very successful Kickstarter campaign. What can you tell us about your experiences?

We planned the Kickstarter campaign very soon to get support for realizing the first batch. This seemed the best way to get started, since you get a lot of valuable feedback and market proof. And it was a very good decision.

We designed flying tent to have a smart solution to be able to get out easy and enjoy nature to leave the daily grind behind for a few hours. Whether it is around the lake, in the forest or even in the park during a work break (like when the idea was born) – it is all about the “simply out“ feeling. Through the feedback of friends and backers we got to know that people are really interested in taking flying tent for long trips like hiking, backpacking and bike packing. Thats the reason why we put our effort in redesigning flying tent to the next level over the last weeks. Now we could impress over 2000 backers and we are super happy to start production soon.

7 years from now: How did your startup change the world?

Besides the fact, that we will meet numerous happy flying tent users on the road while traveling and that they share the most fantastic stories with us, we will have positioned ourselves as a well known quality brand for smart outdoor equipment. flying tent is the start of our vision, to provide smart solutions to keep customers and friends motivated for exploring the great outdoors. It does not need be tedious, so it is worth a trip. We still have many ideas. Stay tuned!

In what ways do you measure your success and how do you make sure you don’t lose track?

We measure our success on quality products and enthusiastic customers. Since the beginning of our campaign, we have tried to implement the product feedback from our backers. Only through continuous communication with our target group, we have managed to bring flying tent to the next level. Now we look forward to great pictures and stories clients around the world will share with us.

How do you make sure you don’t get lost in the shuffle?

Focus on the customer, quality and on the WHY. Every startup can tell you what they do and how they do it. For us it is more important why we do what we do. We designed flying tent to offer people a smart solution to be able to get out easy and enjoy nature – to leave the daily grind behind for a few hours.
