Interested in working abroad? StartUs helps you find your dream job! Find all the information you need on the application process right now!

If you have always dreamed about travelling, adventures and experiencing other cultures, getting a job in the country of your choice is the best way to make your dream come true. Maybe you want to start over again in a new place, with new people around you and new experiences to take on. Once again, finding a new job where you can practice your skills and learn new ones could be exactly what you need for hitting the restart button.

There are many things to know before starting the application process, but as opposed to our predecessors, everything is much easier today because of technology. The sky’s the limit, so you can find jobs in any country you can think of and apply for them at the touch of a button!

Not sure where to begin your search? The Internet can be big and overwhelming, especially when it comes to finding a job. The trick, however, is to know exactly what you are aiming for. What type of position are you interested in? In what department and in which location? There are many websites presenting you with thousands and thousands of jobs, so which one should you choose? Once again, it all depends on what you are interested in.

If working in a corporation is your thing, filter your search accordingly. If you want to work and develop in a startup, you may have just come across a life-changing piece of advice.

Land That Dream Job!

StartUs is Europe’s fastest growing career network and it focuses on bringing together startup enthusiasts from the whole continent. Therefore, if you are into the whole startup thing and you are looking for a change of scenery, this should be the place to start from.

Full time, part time, remote or even freelancing jobs, they are all waiting for you to explore them! However, if you are looking for a change of scenery, maybe you should leave the last two out.

Job selection works quite easy. All you need to do is to filter your search according to four main parameters: location, job-type, skills and language.

You also have the possibility to select a certain company out of the 20 listed on the StartUs platform. They all have available positions, so if you know right from the start the company you want to work for and if it is listed over here, you have an extra-advantage on your hand.

Start Your Application Process

#1 Get A Work Permit Or A Visa

After finding a job that appeals to you, find out more about its location. Maybe you chose the country first, so it is only normal to assume that you know all the legal requirements. However, if it is the other way around do a bit of research.
There is a great chance for your application not to be taken into account if you do not own a visa or a work permit. Make sure that you understand the requirements for each of these two terms and that you also meet them. Usually, the embassy of the country you are moving to will provide you with the info you need. Just make sure your passport is valid before submitting your visa application!

#2 Pay Attention To Language Requirements

You can have all the skills you need for the position, but if they require you to speak their native language and you don’t even know the basics, you’re facing an even greater challenge than you might have thought!

To avoid further disappointment, take a measure of precaution and make sure that you meet the language requirements, before starting the application process. If you discover that you only know the basics, don’t let yourself discouraged! Even a basic level will make your life 10 times easier abroad! If this option is not working for you either and you don’t know the language at all, state clearly in your application how open you are to learning it and to taking in the new culture. Give concrete facts, like your eagerness to start the language courses as soon as you arrive!

So, what do you think? Are you ready to make a bold move and change your life for good? A new job in a new country with new people for you to meet and to share new experiences with! Do you have what it takes to face this challenge?

StartUs can provide you with a great amount of jobs. Yours is to find the right one and show your potential employers what makes you different from the locals. What else can you offer to their company other than what locals have to give?
