Madrid Presents New Startup Initiative: Madrid Startup House

The Digital Single Market is one of the European Union’s key priorities. It aims to tear down regulatory barriers and create a more vibrant, connected and seamless European Digital Market.

But how can Spain, and its capital Madrid, confront the challenge of being part of a truly Digital Single Market?

Connecting Major Players At Madrid Startup House

Madrid is a city buzzing with entrepreneurship activities, both within the public and the private sphere, but often resources, connections, and efforts are widely dispersed. What is needed is a single point to unify all activities and players, to strengthen the entrepreneurship scene and give the city’s startup community a platform for international reach to other ecosystems.

Madrid Startup House was launched in November 2016 under the umbrella of the Digital Single Market, to do just this. Other platforms like this are foreseen to be created in other cities in Europe, such as Venice in Italy.

On March 6th, 2017 Madrid’s most important financial, tech and startup actors will gather with Andrus Ansip, Vice-President for the Digital Single Market, as well as Isidro Laso, Head of the European Commission initiative ‘Startup Europe’, for the presentation of the ‘Madrid Startup House’ Foundation.
