Google I/O Extended Luxembourg

For the first time, Luxembourg will welcome its Google I/O Extended event. But what is Google I/O? And what are the Google I/O Extended events?

Google I/O is two days of inspirational talks, hands-on learning, and a chance to hear more about Google’s latest developer products. The event takes place every year in San Francisco and features highly technical, in-depth sessions focused on building web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and open web technologies such as Android, Chrome, Chrome OS, Google APIs, Google WebToolkit, App Engine, and more.

The Google I/O Extended events are focused on bringing the local developer community together to experience the keynote and other main Google I/O sessions together, in real-time. Conferences and keynotes delivered in San Francisco can be live-streamed or podcasted in order not to miss the inspiring talks from Google’s experts and influencers. They also offer unique activities targeted to developers, such as codelabs, technical workshops, etc.

The Venue

Technoport is hosting the event in their premises. Technoport has been set-up back in June 2012 as the result of the merge between the former Technoport, a technology-oriented business incubator launched by the Public Research Center Henri Tudor back in 1998, and Ecostart I and II, business support infrastructures developed since 2004 by the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade.

The global mission of Technoport is to help and support individuals and small teams to validate and bridge their ideas to success through three platforms, an incubator, coworking place and a fablab.

The Offer

What will be offered during the two-day event?
Google I/O 2015 Extended Luxembourg will be free of charge and will feature numerous tech animations, such as:

• Live video streams and replays of the conferences delivered @Google I/O in San Francisco. Seat together in a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy keynotes and workshops from some of the World most influential tech visionaries.
• Tech workshops and codelabs. For now, the confirmed sessions are as below (more are being finalized and will be added very soon – all updates are available here).
• Startup exhibition area – The Sandbox: this exhibition area will allow innovative startups from Luxembourg to showcase their products. You will meet these promising startups which are shaping future technologies.
• Startup networking events: Google I/O 2015 Extended Luxembourg has teamed up with both Startup Grind Luxembourg and Silicon Drinkabout Luxembourg to bring you super cool networking opportunities on May 29th.

The Audience

Whether you are a developer, an entrepreneur, an IT professional, an IT student or just curious about technology, Google I/O 2015 Extended Luxembourg will for sure be of interest to you. The video conferences from San Francisco as well as the local workshops and codelabs will address topics for any kind of people, technical expert or not. You will be able to choose to participate in workshops/codelabs or to watch the video conferences, according to your interests and level of expertise, as these animations will be conducted in parallel.
Finally, the networking events which are planned are meant to gather any person willing to share a drink while meeting people from Luxembourg’s tech ecosystem!
