Finnish FoodTech Startup Wolt Launches In Denmark

Published on:

One of Europe's hottest FoodTech startups, Wolt, launches in Copenhagen today. The award-winning app is the first of its kind in Denmark, giving users access to a platform where it is possible to order high-quality food. After the startup's extension to Estonia and Sweden, Denmark is its recent growth adventure.

Copenhagen is known for its wide selection of restaurants, but it is difficult to distinguish wheat from the chaff: Wolt’s goal is to change that. By analyzing data and identifying trends, it helps app its users choose the right restaurant.

Finland, Estonia, Sweden, And Now – Denmark

“Copenhagen’s foodie scene has really exploded over the past five years,” says Jessie Scheepers, responsible for the launch of Wolt in Denmark. “We have been inspired by Copenhagen’s iconic approach to dining experiences and bold new concepts. It is especially interesting to introduce Wolt to a city where people really care about what they eat!”

Wolt cooperates with high-quality restaurants that are popular among the people of Copenhagen. At the beginning of its launch Wolt confirmed partnerships with a variety of eateries from the new, hip West Market, local classics such as Barburrito, YOBURGER, and Bollyfood. The FoodTech startup thinks outside the framework when it comes to new collaborations with eateries.

“We have created a product that is super easy to use and that people really love and tell their friends about. That is a major growth factor for us”, says Miki Kuusi, adm. Director of Wolt. In Finland, a staggering 91% of Wolt’s users recommend the app to their friends.
