7 Hacks To Ensure Events Grow Your Business (Pt. 2)

Published on:

After getting tips on how to promote your events it's time to learn what steps you can take during and after your event to ensure business growth!

You have done the hardest part already: you have promoted and got people to your event. So why wouldn’t you take these small extra steps in making your event stand out and memorable for the attendees whilst getting a whole extra reach and building up a network of new partners.

During Your Event

#5 Are Two Tshirts Worth Hundreds Of Tweets?

Let’s be honest, people love free stuff even if it is just a tshirt. So what better way to convince people to post about your event than with prizes? Organize a competition with a prize for posting about the event, e.g. the person with the highest number of tweets and highest number of retweets. This encourages people to tweet non stop about the event and you can get them even more competitive using a fullscreen tweet wall at your event, for example, through Twubs.

Make sure you have a hashtag for your event, so you can find those tweets easily. It needs to be short, unique and memorable. This hashtag should be used continuously before, during and after your event for everything you do from your website to the signature of your email.

After Your Event

#6 Give People Thousands Worth Of Free Stuff Without It Costing You Anything.

As the previous tactic highlighted: people love free stuff. Offer your attendees bonuses before and after they attend the event. The best about this growth hack is, that it will not actually cost you anything other than time and may actually earn you some extra money. Create affiliate partnerships with companies and offer your attendees, e.g. 2 months for free of Something tool. Then if they end up purchasing the product you can earn commission on it.

To maximize the benefit of this calculate the value of what you are giving away. If two months of something tool is usually worth 200 Euros say: Get 200 Euros worth of goodies after the event!

#7 Keep The Show Going

Chances are during the event you will be running around like a headless chicken and will not have time to live blog about the event. So just write a blog post covering the event afterwards. Extend the buzz about your event by writing a great blog post covering it to generate further traffic. Send it to the email list that you have been building and make sure they start sharing their amazing experience at your event.
